World Peace Conference 2020 – Worth every minute
From TV celebrity and World Vision representative, Patricia Heaton; to Nuclear War Prevention Nobel Peace Prize winner, Ira Helfand, and Mary Ann Peters, CEO , The Carter Center, the speakers at the World Peace Conference 2020 were sterling. As you will see below, it was wrenching to decide which of the 52 breakout sessions to attend—sessions on Russian, Rohingan, Afghan peace projects; mediation; film and media; intercultural skills; overcoming trauma and resentment; human trafficking; homelessness; refugee rehabilitation; climate sustainability; all kinds of topics on work place and women’s betterment and too many more to name. The six of us from Washington were grateful we made the effort to attend this conference in Ontario, California, January 17 and 18.
One personal reward was my mindful promise to think more kindly about people who annoy me or I, often subconsciously, just happen not to like, both personally and distantly.
