John Clayton is a longtime NFL insider and inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

John started covering sports when he was a student at Churchill Area High School, in Churchill, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh. John covered the Steelers in print and radio, along with other Pittsburgh sports teams.

After graduating from Duquesne University in 1976, he worked for The Pittsburgh Press newspaper and worked his way up to become the Steelers beat writer for “The Press.” John left “The Press” in 1986 and started covering the Seattle Seahawks for The News Tribune in Tacoma. In 1995, while remaining as a contributor on KJR (AM), John joined ESPN as a reporter and added a weekly NFL off-season radio show.

John received the Dick McCann Memorial Award from the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007, and was earlier inducted into the sports hall of fame at his alma mater, Duquesne University, in 2001.

He appears daily on 710 ESPN Seattle’s Danny and Gallant (7:10 a.m.) and Wyman and Bob (4 p.m.) and hosts The John Clayton Show from 8-11 a.m. each Saturday.
