Prosperity Rings Report on Visit to India
Prosperity Rings is happy to report that we met with 126 borrowers and 41 potential borrowers in Tamil Nadu, India, as beneficiaries of Bellevue Rotary’s $29,550 District Grant, which was showcased at our Rotary meeting, with all 12 participating clubs in September. The focus of our meetings was on training in new products and services as sustainable enterprises and how to grow their businesses by 1) seeking out more customers, 2) diversifying to expanded products, and 3) creating a higher quality product. They soaked up the information and are ready to apply it now.
Prosperity Rings also met with numerous borrowers from its second partner organization and with those of two former partners as part of its annual monitoring of loans.
Rotarian Nancy Pasternak worked with enthusiastic Rotarians from seven clubs — River Cauvery Musiri, Karur Angels (all ladies), Thanjavur, Thiruvayaru, and three Tiruchirapalli clubs. Many of those members are planning to provide training in quite a variety of fields, including cell phone repair, home appliance repair, beekeeping, bicycle repair, banana byproducts, welding, beautician services, perfume creation, and organic vegetable farming.
The trip was beyond what we could have hoped for.
