Kemper Freeman, Jr., Chairman & CEO, Kemper Development Company, “Community Building While Building Our Community”
Kemper Freeman, Jr., is the principal owner and hands-on leader of Kemper Development Company, which has developed a total of 4 million square feet of real estate in the Bellevue CBD. The Bellevue Collection is comprised of Bellevue Square, Bellevue Place, and Lincoln Square, and spans over 50 acres.
Poised to build the Lincoln Square Expansion, the next phase of a 2 million square foot expansion featuring 700,000 square feet of office, a 244 room designer hotel, 250 luxury residential rentals, and 177,000 square feet of new retail, Freeman saw the need to innovate the pre-leasing process for the varied classes of real estate he was bringing to Downtown Bellevue and Eastside residents. Recognizing it is difficult for most to “visualize” site plans and traditional architectural renderings, Freeman challenged his team to find a new way to leverage technology to tell the story of development in a more engaging way.
This was the idea behind The Studio, the Bellevue Collection Expansion Experience Center located on the second level of Lincoln Square. Not only is there a fully articulated Bellevue Collection model, but the Studio also features a Downtown Bellevue model, which gives guests a perspective on all that is being built in Bellevue, as our community continues to grow and thrive.
