2015 Rotary Trip to Nepal
BRC Past President Rob Rose will lead another Rotary group trip to Nepal this spring. Rob has previously traveled to Nepal 15 times and led 5 group trips, with feedback from virtually every participant being overwhelmingly positive. Many participants stated that it was one of the most meaningful trips they had ever been on! Past BRC trip participants include Brittany Barker, Eric Postle, Charlotte Ellis, Terry Posner, and Laurie Larson.
Tentative trip dates are March 21-April 4, approximately 2 weeks total, including travel time. The return date can be extended for further travel or trekking, at your option. Approximate basic trip costs are (subject to change): Seattle-Kathmandu-Nepal Airfare = $1,900; 12-day in-country program with Kathmandu & Pokhara tour costs, including hotel/sightseeing/project visits and more = $1,200; volunteer program donation which includes trip/program coordination = $500 per person.
What we do in Nepal:
- Guided sightseeing/walking tours in Kathmandu and Pokhara, with transportation included.
- Take in one or more Nepali Rotary and/or Rotaract meetings.
- A minimum of two, hands-on volunteer experiences helping children with disabilities and/or working with adults with disabilities.
- Two-night trip to scenic Pokhara, Nepal.
This trip is an excellent value and gives a unique opportunity to volunteer with children with disabilities, as well as Nepali Rotarians and Rotaractors. Several Rotarians are already signed up to go, so if you are interested in more information and details, please contact Rob Rose ASAP.
