Rotary Ethiopia Water Project Trip, October 28-November 2, 2018
Our club has been involved in many international projects over many years. One of the largest-ever Rotary Water projects is soon to be completed in Ethiopia. It is close to $1 million, and our Bellevue Club, many other 5030 clubs, and our district all contributed funding for this. This is a “model” Rotary Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project.
This trip is being organized by World Vision, and BRC member Kim Lorenz will lead the group. This is a life changing trip. One Rotarian on a similar trip last year stated, “ I have been in Rotary 15 years, but today, I feel like I am really a Rotarian!”
Kim has completed close to $20 million of these collaborated Rotary projects, where World Vision donors match the Rotary funding. These are approved by our Rotary Foundation, who matched our club and district funds here. Ethiopia is one of Kim’s favorite project countries, and this is the 5th project he has been involved with in Ethiopia alone! “Great people, great country, really great Rotarians.”
