Drs. Liliana Alberto & Joyce Shaffer, “Enriching Heredity: Refuting the Myth of Cognitive Decline”
Liliana Alberto is President of the Rotary Club of San Justo, Argentina, a retired pediatric pulmonologist, and an international presenter on the topic of improving brain health. Joyce Shaffer is a psychologist, nurse, global bicyclist, speaker, and author of publications on driving neuroplasticity in a positive direction, for the health of it. The two met when Liliana came to our Rotary luncheon, during a visit with her family in Bellevue.
Influenced by Marian Diamond’s research, described in “Enriching Heredity,” as well as evolving neuroscience, such as research entitled “The Myth of Cognitive Decline,” Joyce’s articles and books have provided a platform for work in promoting the Brain Health International Rotarian Action Group. Liliana will share her experiences in teaching on this topic in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Our mission is to empower our people to build better brains. Our goal is to improve global statistics on brain health.
BHIRAG will support and encourage networking and collaboration between Rotary clubs and districts and the many organizations in our communities and nations that share similar interests in improving brain chemistry, architecture, and performance in our people.
